The British Columbia Heritage Language Association
The British Columbia Heritage Language Association(BCHLA) established in 1982, is a non-profit organization that
actively promotes cross-cultural understanding through heritage/international language instruction and education.
BCHLA serves as the umbrella body for heritage language schools mainly in Burnaby and Vancouver.
The primary goal of BCHLA is to actively promote cross-cultural understanding through heritage/international language instruction and education.
BCHLA strongly promotes heritage /international language education as an integral part of the strategy to promote multi-culturalism and to eliminate racism within
the school system and the community-at-large.
