BCHLA has two primary functions

School Rentals

Arranging for school rentals between Heritage Language Schools and the Vancouver and Burnaby School Boards. 

Student Exchanges

Organizing student exchanges between Secondary schools in BC and schools in Germany. 

The BC - Germany Student Exchange Programme is administered by the BCHLA in Canada. The programme was initiated in 1977 in North Vancouver and Vancouver and now includes students throughout British Columbia. Literally thousands of students have participated in the BCHLA exchange.
