Exchange Objectives
This is a fantastic and unique opportunity for students in their Grade 10 and 11 year enrolled in German language courses to participate in a reciprocal academic exchange during the school year.
This exchange aims to:
1. Improve German language proficiency.
2. Promote international goodwill and understanding.
3. Supplement classroom studies with firsthand experience in another country.
Our Exchange Includes
- Accompanied International travel to and from Germany
- Two BCHLA locally organized orientation sessions
- A ten-week reciprocal exchange with your German partner attending your BC Secondary school and homestay with your family. The same situation, in reverse, will be your experience in Germany.
- Opportunities to participate in German school-sponsored activities, often including field trips, and other extracurricular activities and events.
- The opportunity to forge a life-long friendship.
- Year-round administrative support provided by BCHLA.
In Germany this Programme is administered by the Senatorin für Bildung und Wissenschaft in the Freie Hansestadt Bremen and the Ministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft, Jugend und Kultur, in Rheinland-Pfalz.
